Sita Jacobson
Founder and Designer
For Sita, a piece of jewelry is so much more than just a beautiful object. It is a memory, a connection, a story.
Growing up, Sita’s Grandmother Sabina had an exquisite jewelry collection. Sita recalls how her Grandmother was drawn to the beauty of each piece, but more so, to the memory each piece represented. Sita would sit with her Grandmother as she shared her collection and the stories of the pieces. She cherished these moments, and her Grandmother’s jewelry collection quickly grew to represent so much more than mere pieces of metal and stone.
Sita's passion for jewelry making started early
As a child growing up in Ashland, Oregon, she would spend hours in a local bead shop, delighted by the endless combinations of color, texture, and shape. By the time she was nine, Sita was already experimenting with creating her own pieces, laying the foundation for her lifelong connection to the craft.
When Sita moved to Maui after school, she found a thriving culture of jewelers and metal smiths. With her natural talent for design, she quickly found herself honing new skills and developing her. Over time, this inspiration blossomed into a creative passion. Sita began experimenting with crafting her own pieces, drawn to the idea of creating jewelry that could hold meaning and tell stories, much like her grandmother’s collection.
Sabina Jewelry is born
More recently, Sita has found new purpose and inspiration as a mother of two beautiful children. With her husband Dave, they have established roots in Steamboat and have become an integral part of the Steamboat Springs community. She also still finds time to develop new skills and refine her practice by taking workshops all over the country. She looks forward to discovering how her life will inform and shape her jewelry style for years to come.

Kat Luth
Kat is a Metalsmith and bench jeweler, certified from the Denver School of Metal Arts. She joined the Sabina team in the spring of 2022. She brings to the studio a bit of knowledge and a lot love for metal fabrication.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Kat has called a number of ski towns in Colorado her home since 2001. Her hobbies include working with textiles and metals in her own studio, rafting, trail running, and Nordic skiing. She lives north of Steamboat in Clark with her husband, daughter and 2 blue heelers.
Sam Szabian
Samantha Szabian is originally from Houston, Texas but has called Colorado her home since 2014.
She joined the Sabina Jewelry team in November 2021. Her role has involves producing our one-of-a-kind, handmade pieces. My specialties include wire wrapping and gemstone identification.
When I’m not in the studio, I enjoy hiking and rockhounding. I am currently learning lapidary skills to further expand my knowledge of gemstones and minerals.
